Meeting Minutes –


9 October 2006


The meeting was called to order at 1810 hours by President, CW5R Baiocchetti, with members saluting the flag during the pledge of Allegiance. The President declared a quorum was present.  The meeting was held at Michelangelo’s Restaurante Italiano


Secretary’s Report:  CW3R Michael Turner


            The minutes of the September 2006 meeting were presented electronically. A request was made to the members present for clarifications or changes to the electronic minutes; CW3R Michael Turner advised of 2 minor correction to the minutes


            4 Chapter Proxies were returned to the Secretary


            A motion was made by CW3R Art Schmid to accept the minutes as amended.  The motion was seconded by CW3R Gary Huggins.  The motion was passed


Treasurer’s Report:  CW4R Harold Lindamood


      September 30, 2006 –

                  Savings Account - $26.10

                  Checking Account – $3407.24


A motion was made by CW3R Ron James to accept the Treasurer’s Report subject to audit, and seconded by CW2R Ted Cogut. The motion to accept the September Treasurer’s Report, subject to audit, was approved


President's Report:  CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti


            1.  A check for $100 was sent to the Southeast Region for the AMM-2006 General Fund.

            2.  CW3R Joe Gill has left the Fort Lowell-Apache Chapter for an Unaffiliated Membership


Vice President's Report:  CW3R Ron James


1. Introduced the Massing of the Colors and Service Remembrance by the Women’s League

2. Will provide a list of tasks that chapter members could perform during the drill meet


Old Business


            1. CW3R Ron James brought us up-to-date on the Drill Meet.  There are 10 schools signed up thus far

            2.  The perpetual trophy design has been completed and we will soon see the prototype trophy that consists of an Apache with a weapon


New Business


1.  CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti announced the Massing of the Colors and Service Remembrance on 12 November 2006 at 1400 hours.  The Flowing Wells JROTC unit is willing to carry the colors but needs the flags and bases.  The school color guard will carry the USAWOA and Fort Lowell-Apache colors.  A motion was made by CW3R Art Schmid that the Chapter provide the USAWOA and Fort Lowell-Apache colors to the color guard. The motion was seconded by CW4R Harold Lindamood, and carried


2.  The ceremonies will also recognize deceased members or our organization if we provide the information.  They need not be a member, but could be a fellow warrant we knew or lost


3.  The Chapter Holiday party is tentatively set for Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Turner residence.  The dinner will be a pot luck affair.  CW3R Michael Turner offered a Boston Butt or a Smoked Turkey as possible main entrees.  An email will be sent to the Chapter members announcing the gathering and requesting other entrees, desserts, etc.

            1.  The new Chapter officers for 2006-2007 were sworn in by Maj(R) Robert Dewitt:


                        President – CW2R John Curtis                      Vice President – W01 Craig Dowdney

                        Secretary – CW3R Michael Turner                Treasurer – CW5R Vincent Baiocchetti


            2. Other appointed officers are:

                        Historian – CW2R John Curtis

                        Webkeeper – CW3R Michael Turner


            3.  The Chapter members thanked CW3R Gary Huggins for “taking care” of the cost of our meals




CW3R Ron James made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. There being no discussion, the motion was seconded by James CW2 John Curtis and passed by the members present at 1912 hours.


            The next meeting of the Ft. Lowell-Apache Chapter will be held at 1800 hours at the Cattletown Restaurant, 13 November 2006
